Heroku was founded in 2007, with a special focus on apps and the developer experience around apps. It has embodied that philosophy and now grown into “a cloud platform that lets companies build, deliver, monitor, and scale apps - the fastest way to go from idea to URL, bypassing all of those infrastructure headaches.” Heroku primarily works on the securities and operations side of things to allow companies to dedicate their time towards mastering their apps.

The company was acquired by Salesforce in 2011, making the Heroku platform part of the Salesforce Platform - fun fact: Salesforce is also a great sponsor of Hacker Noon! According to their official site, developers around the world have created over 13 million apps on Heroku, which serves over 60 billion requests per day - that’s more than 600,000 requests every second! Heroku advertised their Code[ish] Podcast and Developer-friendly platform for 2 weeks of the month for a period of 6 months in 2020 with HackerNoon! They did a combination of Top Nav Billboard, Newsletters and Podcast!
